SEND

At Inwood we have a nursery SENDCO (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator) that has been trained through the local authority and internally to support the key person, child, families to ensure that the child’s individual needs are met. We have a clear policies and procedures in place, which we review regularly to ensure that our resources and environments are suitable and accessible for all. Each child will have a clear education and development plan drawn up by their key person, SENDCO and nursery manager who will work closely with the child to differentiate resources, experiences and activities to support each child’s development needs.

The SENDCO will liaise with other professional (with the parent’s consent) such as Early Years Inclusion Officers, Speech and Language Therapists and Health Visitors to gain further advice in supporting each individual child. The SENDCO and the key person will work collaboratively to ensure that these targets and strategies are implemented. The plans and activities will be reviewed by the key person, SENDCO and the parents regularly to update plans and provide support for all children.

BRITISH VALUES

We support and endorse teaching children about the importance of British Values. We explain through everyday experiences:

THE RULE OF LAW

Ensuring children understand the need for, and following social rules and expectations.

DEMOCRACY

About making decisions. Children should be actively encouraged to express their opinions and value others.

INDIVIDUAL LIBERTY

Encouraging children to have a positive view of themselves and celebrating differences.

MUTUAL RESPECT & TOLERANCE

For those with different faiths making decisions together.
